Layer 8 Present at North-East Fraud Forum

We were delighted to be invited back – by popular demand – to present at the North-East Fraud Forum in Newcastle last week. We had been asked to provide a workshop which would alert delegates to security vulnerabilities in their businesses, so we decided to get them all to take on the role of the hacker for the morning. Working in teams they were challenged to create a dastardly attack on a sector-specific business (fictional – I hasten to add), using phishing, ransomware or social engineering attacks. We’re happy to report that at the end of the session no-one was thinking about giving up their day-job, but delegates’ feedback told us that they were now thinking about risks that had been exposed for them, through the course of the workshop.
